There is a wide range of martial arts disciplines to choose from but, in general, they all strive to develop skills that we hope to encourage in ourselves. Ninjutsu is the ancient art of the ninja shadow warriors of Japan. Often referred to as the ‘art of winning', it is a unique method of movement and strategy. 

Taijutsu is the basic defence method used: relaxed and continuous body movement, which allows effective defensive counters in attack situations. Ninjutsu isn’t just about physical prowess; it is also about training the mind and spirit so that your children can develop skills that they can use in other areas of their lives. If you or your child aren’t especially keen on team sports, then Ninjutsu can be a good way for you to not only get some exercise but to meet other like-minded people, learn a traditional martial art, and have fun along the way. If you have concerns over the fighting aspects of martial arts, please don’t worry.

Despite the ‘feudal origins’ of Ninjutsu, all training within the dojo (Martial Arts Training School) takes place in a disciplined manner, encouraging the use of technique and the mind to overcome the opponent as opposed to gratuitous brute force. This, in turn, promotes self-restraint and reinforces positive behaviour. Techniques in Ninjutsu include locks, throws, ground fighting, multiple attacks and weaponry. We are aware of the issues facing people today, including bullying, ‘stranger danger’, lack of confidence and lack of motivation. We aim to address these where possible through the art of Ninjutsu. 

It is not a ‘quick fix’ but we are committed to helping you become a fitter, healthier, and more confident person in a supportive, non-competitive environment. It’s about learning and growing together. What to Wear

A t-shirt and jogging pants is fine to begin with. You can wear socks or soft pumps – whichever is preferred. How much does it cost? Your first training session is free – if you enjoy your training and decide to continue, great – if not, you haven’t lost anything apart from an hour of your time. 

Class fees are just £5.00 for each weekly session. Subscription – if you decide to stay, the annual subscription fees are £20.00 (Juniors) - £25.00 (Seniors) - (Don’t worry, we won’t ask for this until after the first month to make sure that you have enough time to consider whether Ninjutsu is right for you)

Clothing: Gi (Traditional Japanese Jacket and Trousers) Price may vary but usually between £10 and £25. We can order these for you or you may prefer to source them yourself.

Footwear: we are still trying to source good-quality indoor tabis (Traditional Japanese Footwear) You can buy black training pumps for around £5-£10. 

Belts—again, we can order these for you or you can buy them locally from sports or school-wear shops—the average price is £5.00 Pre-grading: White 9th – 4th Kyu (Grade)—Green 3rd–1st Kyu (Grade)—Brown 1st Dan—Black Grading

Grading tests (approximately every 3–6 months in the earlier stages) cost £15.00. We would not expect you to take a grade unless we were confident that you were ready to do so, as we believe in celebrating motivation, determination and effort, not rewarding them simply for the sake of it. 

We want you to enjoy, learn and grow from your training—to gain a sense of satisfaction and self-fulfillment from achieving your belts—and not be motivated by them purely as status symbols.
